The war in Iran is showing that the idea of rescuing the Iranian people is also hiding a fight of influence in the Middle East between the Western countries and the alliance made in the beginning of the 2020’s between China, Russia and Iran. This alliance wants to be broken by Trump, at least partly, but today it is quite reinforced by the war in Iran.
This war is showing that Trump, even if this war was legitimate, doesn’t have a relevant strategy despite the overwhelming advantage of forces his army have with the Israelis. The paradox is that Trump and the Iranis don’t approach the conflict the same way. Overall the Irani power use the reformist ideas to fight which is able to have great effects with few means. On the contrary the reactionary ideas of Trump are not able to sustain this type of fight and probably other Republicans, more liberal and not reactionary would have succeeded better against Iran. Overall, to confront a great humanist idea like reformism, other great humanist ideas have to face like liberalism while reactionarism is not able to sustain reformism in a conflict. The real equilibrium is with the overwhelming advantage of the army but it is a real defeat for the ideas of Trump.
The other great winners of the conflict are China and Russia. Concerning China they put in power a new regime more aligned to their interests and their vision of the world. They support authoritarian, stable and less religious regime than before. It is a good blow for them in their influence in the Middle East. Concerning Russia they did good economic benefits which can help them to sustain the war in Ukraine. Probably Russia supports the change of regime in Iran which is more compliant to its interests. These factors show that the alliance between China, Russia and Iran is reinforced, not to a great extend but is quite winning ground.
Overall this war can be a very good wake up call for the Western countries. Seeing a country much less powerful successfully resisting against a lot superior countries in the army can show that the Western world is not going to the good direction. It benefits from its inheritage from the past but the current dominant ideologies are not relevant enough. They have been to fight Iraq in 2003 but are not efficient enough to defeat a more organized country like Iran. It is the reason why this war can be a good thing for the United States and Europe who can put ideas into question that partly contribute to the decline of the Western countries. It can also cost the next elections to Trump and it is a very good thing.
