The syndrom of debt and the decrease of education : two symptoms of decadence

Decadence we see everywhere in the Western world in two aspects. The explosion of debts and the decrease of the educational system. Those two aspects show to which extend the Western world is today in decline, and how it is necessary to tackle it.

Decadence is first seen in the level of education. The generalization of impunished violence is at the end of the course at the service of an oppressive system. To this extend it is necessary to see that these injustices can serve a great deal reactionary movements. The lowering level of education and the rise of violence in society show this kind of aspect. It is the reason why it is necessary to promote more education, but as well to reform the educational system. A more open system should be taken into account, and it is the reason why it must include more fields, and be less strict about “formal” academic things, even if more discipline and respect are necessary. To this extend reforming the educational system is necessary.

The amount of debt is also detrimental to see to which extend our civilization is decadent. The explosion of debt in France from the 90’s is not a unique case : in all the Western world the explosion of debt is a terrible trend. To this extend it is necessary to focus more on the economic development. But in our society communication is taking too much steps. Focusing on prosperity a more discreet way should be more a priority. A Jewish proverb says that “step by step money is going growing, and easy fortune is delapidated”. It looks that our generations are ruining the legacy they got from their ancestor and they got too easily. To this extend it looks necessary to build in the long run again and work extremely hard to this extend. As mediocrity is more important than before (we come back to a period anterior to the Second World War) is looks necessary to adopt again the sentence of Chateaubriand : “strong characters, powerful imagination, mysterious and hidden lives”.
