The balloon crisis reveal the greatest current trend : the fight for global supremacy in sciences and technologies. In fact this factor has been detrimental. The approach is showing how the alliance of thinking and science is targeting to change the curse of the world a very discreet way.
First it is tangible, in my opinion, that the war in Ukraine is not the real important impact in the world. The fight between the United States and China is today far more important. It leads to different considerations. To begin the fight to prepare the future is becoming more and more detrimental. Lenin criticized at its time the social democrats for having an ongoing optimistic view of the future. But this approach is on the contrary leading to the success of the Chinese.
This mentality is shaping the curse on the new technologies between the Americans and the Chinese. However the Western world has today to adapt to the demeanor of the Chinese which is more efficient in the long run. The former 20 years we lived in a time of decadence and mediocrity, in my opinion, which is visible in the Western countries. At the same time, discreetly, China was expanding at an extraordinary pace. It looks obvious that the West lost the notion of investment in the long run that shaped, for instance, the mentality of Hegel.
Ironically there are several common points between the communist Chinese and the Muslim brothers : the method they are following to operate. Both follow a long run strategy to expand their interests. Those notions have been lost in the West, which are following more the neo liberal views, which often tend to comply to short run successes. In my opinion China’s rise looks like German’s one at the end of the XIXth century. And Germany, until today, has the mentality to build in the long run. This approach can be seen in many German philosophers, from Hegel to Nietzsche. Even Marx has the mentality to build his materialist dialectic in the long run.
The current context is also shedding light on the works of Auguste Comte. This approach is about positivism and is advocating a future linked to rationality and science. It looks that the Chinese government plans are going back to this period, where progress is seen as a detrimental value. It is in this context that the speech of Emmanuel Macron to the armies in January 2023 is taking place : the context of the new world we are entering in is linked to the acceleration (as it has always been the case) of dematerialization. That is the reason why the element of preparing the future will be more and more detrimental. To the same extend we are entering to a new period of history with, in my opinion, a return of the great history, with enemies of the same level. And, to the same extend, a great revitalization of old ideas and theories that looked old fashioned.
